Ojai Valley Inn, known for hosting some of the best Southern California food residencies over the last few years, today announced their first culinary series of 2021—and it’s going to be one to remember. Meadowood Napa Valley, temporarily closed after the Glass Fire damaged their property and destroyed the three Michelin-starred Restaurant at Meadowood, is bringing their culinary team down to Ojai. The winter residency is hosted in collaboration with chef Christopher Kostow of The Restaurant at Meadowood. The two stunning five-star California hotels, both of which are American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts properties, actually have a long-standing relationship.

“We are so excited to partner with Ojai Valley Inn, and take up ‘residency’ at the beautiful Farmhouse designed by our friends Howard Backen and Silvia Nobili,” said Kostow. “While planned well before the Glass Fire that devastated The Restaurant at Meadowood, our time in Ojai will serve as an opportunity for the TRAM team to continue to cook and work together.”

The Restaurant at Meadowood Winter Residency will run from January 6, 2021 to February 28, 2021 at Ojai Valley Inn’s gorgeous event space: The Farmhouse. The Farmhouse was actually inspired by Meadowood Napa Valley’s design, so even architecturally, this residency comes full circle. The pop-up dinner series will feature a six-course meal with wine pairings for $495 per person. Kostow and the rest of the Meadowood culinary team will showcase local California ingredients sourced from Meadowood’s farm. A confluence of West Coast flavors, the residency will feature the best of Southern and Northern California cuisine.

“We look forward to crafting menus that encompass the divergent terroir of the valleys of Napa and Ojai, and to sharing our work with a new audience," said Kostow.

The Restaurant at Meadowood Winter Residency will serve dinner Wednesday through Sunday at The Farmhouse, and as a preamble to the 2021 pop-up, Ojai Valley Inn will feature some exceptional culinary events with renowned chefs, like Global Dining Collection Chef Nancy Silverton. Those events, also hosted at Ojai Valley Inn’s Farmhouse, will include a Petrossian Caviar Master Class on November 20, a meal by Dominique Crenn (the only female chef in the U.S. to earn her San Francisco restaurant earn three Michelin stars) on December 5, and a highly anticipated Truffle Dinner with Nancy Silverton on December 12. Silverton will present a multi-course meal with white Alba and black Périgord truffles alongside truffle specialist John Magazino, a perfect way to whet the palette ahead of Meadowood’s entrance on January 6.
