Personal Effects: Ikram Goldman

The Chicago-based sartorial savant, and owner of the Windy City’s It boutique (and art gallery and café) Ikram, shares the most important items in her everyday arsenal.

“I can’t live without my music library. I still like buying CDs and looking at the album art. I’ll listen to music wherever I go, on any devise—my phone, iPod, and computer—and wherever I travel. I am always finding new artists and music. Right now I'm into Stromae. I found these pens, called UNI Pin Pens, in a little stationary shop in Paris near the apartment where we stay. I always make sure to get more whenever I am in town. Power Snacks are my go-to when I need a pick me up. The Cacao Goji is my favorite flavor. We buy them in bulk from Whole Foods. I love GUM Go-Betweens—their tiny brushes keep my teeth looking and feeling fantastic. My Baja East blanket keeps me feeling comfortable wherever I travel, and I never go anywhere without my iPhone. I have a favorite photograph from a rather playful shoot with my sons that I always keep with me. I love it because it really captures their spirit and that moment in time.”
