Hot on the heels of debuting its new flagship property in Brooklyn Bridge in mid-February, the ecominded luxury boutique brand 1 Hotels unveils plans for its first international residences: 55 for-sale homes at the recently announced 1 Hotel & Homes Cabo, located on the 22-acre private beachfront residential community of Hacienda in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Offering homeowners privacy from the hotel, but access to each of its amenities, all “1 Homes” sit slightly apart, with 50 suite-style residences (including two penthouses with their own elevators) in an adjacent building. The remaining five accommodations are independent builds (two are larger estates) and the only standalone homes on Medano beach.

All 55 residences share the same design 1 Hotels is known for, with locally sourced marble, granite, and (reclaimed) wood surfaces and midcentury modern–style furniture in neutral shades. (Owners have some option for customization.) Each individual residence boasts its own private deck and plunge pool, while all 55 have two pools to share.

Other amenities include 24-hour concierge, valet parking, bellman services, 24-hour in-home dining, catering and private chef services, in-home massage, spa and fitness services (like personal training), ecoconscious housekeeping services, and a "lock and leave” program should owners wish to rent their residences. Property highlights also include additional hotel pools, the Seed Spa, and El Mercado—an open-air collection of kiosks reminiscent of a Mexican street food market.

“If you consider the owners we have at Hacienda today, this is a very mindful audience, migrating seasonally from other wellness capitals like Denver and Los Angeles,” says Juan Diaz, the managing director of Hacienda. “Beyond the legacy of Cabo as an elite getaway dating back a half century to the Rat Pack era, the Cabo of today craves a sustainable new luxury.”

Construction of 1 Homes began in late 2016, and completion is slated for mid-2018. The hotel is expected to open in 2019. Prices for the homes, which range from one to seven bedrooms, start in the low $600,000s and range up to $7,000,000, with a select few still available for pre-sale at a founder's price.
