Miami Design Sources

The best new home and design shops in Miami's ever-expanding Design District.

The city’s Design District continues its unstoppable growth. Italian manufacturer Minotti (3801 N.E. 2nd Ave.; 305-306-9300; minottifl.com) is the newest to the fold. The 10,000-square-foot store (pictured) displays its elegant contemporary furniture, including Rodolfo Dordoni’s new Yang and Seymour seating systems. As no Miami villa would be complete without stellar outdoor furniture, Brown Jordan’s (3625 N.E. 2nd Ave.; 305-573-1946; brownjordan.com) new space features local pine, coral rock, and organic concrete flooring. For South American luxe, we recommend one of Brazil’s leading brands, Artefacto (17651 Biscayne Blvd.; 305-931-9484; artefacto.com). Need help pulling it all together? Local decorator, golden boy Michael Dawkins (3628 N.E. 2nd Ave.; 305-573-4355; michaeldawkinshome.com) has 10,000 square feet of accessories, vintage pieces, art, and upholstery furniture in his signature calming neutral palette.
