With social distancing and stay-at-home orders in place across the country, many people are looking for ways to keep busy. They’re also looking for ways to stay fit. And while there are countless virtual workout classes to try, Nike upped the ante by letting anyone compete against a professional athlete from the comfort of their houses.

The athletic apparel brand recently unveiled its Living Room Cup Challenge, where a famous Nike athlete gives you a home workout challenge, and then you can see how you two compare. Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo presented the first challenge via his Instagram account on April 5.

“Hey guys, I have a new challenge for you to stay active: the Living Room Cup,” he wrote to his 211 million followers (the most on Instagram). “Can you step up and beat my core crusher record? Show me what you got.” The legend went on to complete 142 sit-ups in 45 seconds with his video garnering more than 32 million views.

Now, other famous soccer players like Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial are trying to beat his record. Plus, the rest of the world has a week to see how they stack up to Ronaldo and even break the record before a new challenge is announced.

Not even a week into the launch, the challenge has quickly become one of the most trending on social media. And while the remaining roster of athletes is still under wraps, every workout will “define the world of sport.” So, we’re likely to see famous faces across all athletic endeavors.

The brand is also offering its Nike Training Club giving you training tips on how to beat the pros potentially. If you want to be part of the challenge, you can share a video on Instagram using the hashtags #playinside and #Thelivingroomcup.
