Priyanka Chopra Jonas is known for her stellar performances on screen. But the actress wants to prove she can dominate the dining scene, as well. The star recently announced that she, along with partners, restaurateur David Rabin and businessman Maneesh Goyal, will be opening a new Indian restaurant in New York City later this month that will serve up some of her favorite flavors and dishes.
The 38-year-old took to Instagram to make the announcement, writing, "I'm thrilled to present to you Sona, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into. Sona is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavors I grew up with."

According to Chopra, famous Indian chef Hari Nayak will helm the kitchen, something he's dreamed about for over 20 years. "New York has always been my most cherished dream," he wrote in his own post. "And like every beautiful dream, it had to be perfect. It had to be the right opportunity, the right time, and the right team—united by the same vision of showcasing my beloved India in all its timelessness yet warmly embracing modernity in flavor and cuisine."
More details like what will be on the menu have yet to be released, but Goyal revealed the dishes would incorporate everything from Mumbai street food to Goa's beachy flavors. Plus, the restaurant's new Instagram account is sharing photos of dining in Bombay in the 1960s, where jackets and ties were required, perhaps hinting at what patrons can expect from the new eatery.

The project has clearly been in the works for a while. In Chopra's announcement post, she shared photos from September 2019 where they "performed a small intimate Puja (prayer ceremony) to bless the space that would soon become Sona." Husband Nick Jonas can be seen alongside his wife partaking in the ceremony. He has yet to comment, but we're sure to see the ambitious duo enjoying a meal at the new spot soon.
