The hospitality industry was one of the hardest hit due to the pandemic. But, the silver lining is that it’s spurred a lot of creative new concepts. And the latest is a partnership between Exclusive Resorts and Resident who created a VIP dining experience.
The elite members-only vacation club just announced that they would now host bespoke meals with the supper club partner. What does that entail exactly? Well, during your stay at one of the luxury New York City residences, a meal can be prepared by Michelin-trained chefs and acclaimed sommeliers. During the private chef’s table-style evening, the Michelin-trained chef will create an original menu and personally introduce each course along with the wine or cocktail pairing.
For example, you’ll be greeted with a welcome drink before chef Ajesh Deshpande of Eleven Madison Park whips up several courses like milk bread pao and Maine lobster with black truffle. Then you can expect a selection of wines and Champagnes that will enhance the flavors. Both the chef and sommelier will be on hand to present the courses explaining the inspiration.
Once Members choose the date of their dinner, Resident will share a list of available Michelin-trained chefs, who will design the custom tasting menu. For an additional cost, Members can work directly with the chef to further customize the menu. Members can also request a specific cuisine style, and Resident will take any dietary restrictions into consideration. Chefs specialize in cuisines from new-American to Chinese, Filipino, French, Italian, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Nordic, Peruvian, Venezuelan, and more.
For privacy and safety, the chef prepares the food in a separate unit so that you can enjoy a luxe dining experience with table service but still get a solo meal (dress up or wear pajamas if you’d like). The Resident team will even prepare a beautifully-set table, light candles, and select music to set the mood for a special evening at your home away from home. Oh, and they’ll even do the dishes meaning all you have to do is curl up on the couch or go to bed.
The inspiration behind the partnership came as Exclusive Resorts was looking for ways to deliver exclusive, transformative experiences to its Members amid travel restrictions. Plus, it helps those in the restaurant industry to have more opportunities to work in a safer environment. To protect members and staff further, they implemented enhanced COVID-19 safety protocols, including temperature checks, masks for all staff, hand sanitizer for each guest, and more.
While this offering is for NYC, Exclusive Resorts has a portfolio of nearly 400 residences and curated experiences worldwide. The hand-selected homes, villas, apartments, and suites have an on-site team to manage everything from picking up groceries to disinfecting your home and arranging private excursions.
The cost for the VIP dining experience is $2,000 for Exclusive Resorts Members and up to six guests. What’s more is The Club will make a donation from these meals to the James Beard Foundation’s Open For Good campaign helping independent restaurants survive this crisis.
