Chocolate for the Spirit, Carmel, Indiana

In the midst of 2008's recession, Julie Bolejack realized she loved chocolate a whole lot more than computer programming while spending time at a Sedona retreat. So, in 2009, for “act three” of her life, she became an artisan chocolatier. Bolejack may be self-taught but she works primarily with grand cru single-origin chocolate and has brought home 15 awards from the 2015 International Chocolate Salon. Her eclectic array of confections includes crunchy barks and toffee, creamy bonbons, and flavored bars—including one made from the rare Peruvian Pure Nacional bean. 301 E Carmel Dr., No. 700; 317-518-8842; chocolateforthespirit.com.
