New York Fashion Week marks the beginning of a month-long fashion marathon that has industry pros and celebrities attending shows and presentations in the four major fashion capitals of the world.

And while there are plenty of memorable looks on the runway, street style has also become an inseparable part of fashion week. And this season, showgoers are really anteing up the chic factor, which is not an easy thing to do considering the dipping temperatures and rain this time of the year in the Big Apple.

Black may unofficially be New Yorkers’ color of preference but fashion week attendees are putting on a bold-hued spectacle this season. Whether it’s monochrome outfits in red, blue, or burgundy or an eye-catching combination of multiple shades, color is everywhere.

Of course, this being New York, some showgoers prefer to stick to a neutral and uber-stylish color palette. Coats in beige and camel were practically omnipresent.

But don’t take our word for it, scroll down and see what fashion’s finest wore to the fall 2020 shows in New York City.

Two different but equally chic takes on the black-and-white trend.

We love the way wide-legged pants look with knee-high boots and these showgoers seem to agree with us.

A long coat is a must-have this season.

The right hat can completely transform a look and these chic fashion week attendees know it.

Leather has definitely been having a moment both on and off the runway.

Can you wear jeans to fashion week? Why yes, of course.

We love that the fashion crowd is adopting the oversized silhouette—it’s chic and comfortable.

Some showgoers were seeing red.

A light-hued coat is the perfect way to brighten up your winter wardrobe.

Color me pretty.

These attendees are making us green with envy (see what we did there?).

Supermodel Carolyn Murphy is keeping it cool and casual in a pair of blue jeans and a shearling jacket.

Beige was trending among both men and women.

Don’t be afraid to show off your strong shoulders.
