Fashion week attendees are always dressed to the nines and even more so when they are in Milan. After all, the city hosts some of fashion’s biggest and most influential companies and their shows become a meeting point of celebrities, models, and other fashion pros all dressed to impress. And with street style photographers at every corner documenting show-goers’ every move, who wants to get caught having a bad outfit day?

Plus, in a city like Milan whose inhabitants enjoy shopping in some of the best boutiques in the world, fashion week-worthy street style looks are an everyday occurrence.

And if the first day of MFW is any indication of what’s to come, then we’re in for one stylish ride. Prada’s show, for example, was attended by Nicole Kidman, Alexa Chung, and French influencer/designer Jeanne Damas who set the bar pretty high. And Olivia Palermo, a street style queen if there ever was one, proved that you can style sneakers with a suit and end up looking chic.

Now, check out the best street style looks from the shows in Milan.

Jennifer Lopez and Irina Shayk brought their fashion A-game to Milan.

Men take fashion seriously, too.

No pants, no problem.

A stylish trench coat, especially if it’s by Max Mara, is enough to get you noticed.
