When Lamborghini recently unveiled its most powerful track-only hypercar to date—the SCV12—it wasn’t the only thing that made the news. The Italian automaker that partnered with Swiss luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis in 2017 on a line of limited-edition timepieces, also unveiled a brand new Excalibur Essenza SCV12 timepiece and it’s every bit as impressive as its sports car counterpart.
The “hyper watch” features two sprung balances inclined at 45 degrees, strut bars, a power reserve with racing codes, and an Alcantara strap.

Roger Dubuis has also updated the movement—or as the company calls it the “Duotor” that is only used in its Lamborghini timepieces—stripping it down to the essentials to enhance the performance of the watch as well as the design similarities shared by the timepiece and the new Lamborghini. The new cutting-edge look lacks an upper bridge and features a skeleton-flying mode shaped like the wheel-rim of the Essenza SCV12 that also lets you see the barrel from the top. Lime green accents directly inspired by the color codes of the bolide complement the hour and minute hands on the dial, the crown, and the strap.
And since Lamborghini is known for its custom approach to carmaking, Roger Dubuis is also offering customers to take advantage of its “Rarities” initiative and create their one-of-a-kind version of the Excalibur Essenza SCV12 timepiece. That means you can further personalize the dial, the case, the gemsetting, the functional components, the packaging, and include special prints or engravings.
