How (and Where) to Shop Like a True Parisian

If you’re still wondering what to give your loved one this Valentine’s Day, Dior just saved the day. The French house just launched the most divinely beautiful high jewelry line inspired by classic “toi et moi” designs.

Dubbed “Dior et Moi,” the collection consists of 39 jewelry pieces crafted with semi-precious and precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, and blue and pink sapphires. And speaking of color, the new line has plenty of it. The house’s artistic director Victoire de Castellane brought together unconventional shades, proportions, and shapes resulting in a unique and eye-catching collection.

Red spinels, tourmalines, rubellites, kunzites, turquoise, opals (one of de Castellane’s favorite gems), pearls, as well as lacquer in 15 different hues are also part of the new line that explores the notion of iconic duos.

Some of our favorite pieces include a double ring with a blue-green tourmaline, turquoise, and diamonds; a stunning black opal emerald necklace with pearls; and a pair of emerald malachite earrings in yellow gold.

The earliest mention of a “toi et moi” ring dates back to the end of the 18th century when Napoleon offered a gold ring that featured a diamond and a sapphire to his first wife. Then it was John Kennedy who offered Jacqueline Bouvier a gorgeous emerald-and-diamond ring. The main feature of the “toi et moi” designs is the presence of two stones next to each other.

It really doesn’t get more romantic than that, does it?
