Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if your search for the perfect gift hasn’t been so successful this year, Christie’s next auction is here to save the day.
The auction house’s online sale features an incredible selection of jewels by some of the biggest names in fine jewelry—Cartier, Bulgari, Chanel, Chopard, David Webb, Dior, Graff, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels—and a lot of the pieces are inspired by the upcoming holiday. With over 300 lots offered and bidding on many of them starting below $2,000, the event is sure to attract both collectors and jewelry lovers.
“The frequency of our online sales allows for exciting curation and tailoring to each season. All the popular collecting periods of jewelry are represented [in this auction], from the mid-19th century through to Art Deco, Retro, and contemporary. We also included a lovely selection of jewelry staples—from diamond engagement rings to bold bangles, and pearl necklaces to statement earrings,” said Caroline Ervin, associate specialist for jewelry at Christie’s.
There are some timeless classics, as well as several Cartier “Tank” and “Santos” gold watches—which will surely please the haute horlogerie enthusiast in your life.
We also have our eyes on an exquisite flower brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels (pictured below) that features 22 diamonds and 46 round rubies. It is sure to add an instant oomph factor to any outfit. And talking about statement pieces, there are several pairs of earrings by David Webb that are total stunners.
The best thing about the auction is that there are items that will delight both men and women. We spotted an elegant Aldo Cipullonail gold pin brooch, similar to the one Rami Malek recently wore to the Golden Globes.
Bidding begins on February 5th at 10 a.m. EST. And if you happen to be in New York City, you can check out the jewels in person at Christie’s from February 7-11.
