Our latest food obsession is Goldbely, a website that lets diners order and receive quintessential city dishes from around the country in 24 hours. Among the choices, constantly scouted and vetted for ship-ability and taste by the Goldbely team, are muffuletta sandwiches from Central Grocery in New Orleans, pastrami with rye bread and pickles from Katz's Delicatessen in New York and Langer's in Los Angeles, and ribs from Central BBQ in Memphis. Our Crack Pie from NYC’s Momofuku Milk Bar arrived with not a single—we can’t resist it—crack, and our lobster rolls from Hancock Gourmet Lobster Company in Topsham, Maine, had perfectly briny meat and claws. Non–New Yorkers will rejoice in the range of New York bagels from Black Seed Bagels and Ess-a-Bagel and pizza pies from Roberta’s in Brooklyn. Goldbely founder and CEO Joe Ariel, who launched the site in 2013 because he missed the Southern food of his college days, says users have loved reliving meals of their past. “They get to travel with their taste buds without leaving their home,” he says. goldbely.com.
