Anne fontaine’s sleek new spa is a soothing oasis in the heart of Paris’s foremost shopping district. Andrée Putman designed it using light wood, slate-colored Hainaut stone, and mosaics of broken mirrors. At some 1,640 square feet, it boasts a beautiful steam bath and Jacuzzi area in addition to a couple’s pedicure room and a tub for two. Many of the 80 treatments, such as the Doce de Leite nourishing scrub ($190) and the 12 Coconuts massage performed with the fruit’s shell ($212), were influenced by Fontaine’s childhood in Brazil. The designer’s skincare line, which incorporates cotton and silk fiber, are used in her signature Gentle Cotton ($212) and Silk Dream ($286) massages. The latter is a unique mix of light "butterfly wing" strokes and deep-tissue massage, with a draining effect that’s heightened by a small wooden weaving shuttle pressed on your reflexology points. The session begins and ends with the caress of a silk sheet. Dreamy indeed. At 370 Rue St.-Honoré; 33-1/42-61-03-70.
