Food and fashion have always had a strong relationship. It’s not uncommon for celebrities and socialites to show up to the latest dining hot spot donning the latest designer duds. Well, now those worlds are truly coming together as pieces from an Italian fashion museum are lining the walls of a new Italian restaurant.
Sartoria Lamberti is the first Italian gastronomic atelier. What does that mean exactly? This new Italian restaurant—located in the famous Ritz Carlton hotel in Moscow, an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts property—combines a fashion museum, an onsite working tailor shop, and a new age kitchen.

Uilliam Lamberti partnered with Yuna Megre of MEGRE INTERIORS to design a space that captivates all five senses. So, while you dine on the fine fare, you can take in the walls covered in dressmaking patterns. Also, famous Hollywood pieces—like Pierce Brosnan’s Brioni Tuxedo from Die Another Day and Ava Gardner’s dress from the Barefoot Contessa—are on loan from the archives of Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana (National Chamber of Italian Fashion) are on display behind glass.
These layers of garments, brass pipe lamp fixtures, and velvet chairs and sofas that highlight zippers and buttons on chairs and couches are meant to remind visitors of a tailor shop. Small tables are separated by long thick curtains reminiscent of changing rooms, and a partition style mirror sits at the end of a long family-style dinner table in the middle of the room.

Even the approach to food comes with a fashion slant. The restaurant has described its food like the perfect suit as it’s simple and elegant. For example, the classic, light, airy omelet, and tart features truffles to achieve that vibe.
Of course, the waitstaff is themed too. Each server is dressed in custom pieces designed by Gennaro Annunziata, known in Italy for his luxury menswear brand. He was named the best young tailor at the Sartorial Thread awards in 2018.
