While caroling and holiday concerts may be less feasible this year, the best voices of Broadway are taking the stage to share their talents and spread joy this season. Broadway Inspirational Voices, a Tony Award-winning choir directed by Michael McElroy and featuring stars like Leslie Odom Jr. from “Hamilton” and television, film, and theater star Patti Lupone, will livestream their holiday concert on December 13 at 7 p.m. ET. Tickets are free with a $10 suggested donation, with the proceeds going back to Broadway Inspirational Voices.

This group of renown Broadway stars—which, beyond Lupone and Odom includes Shoshana Bean, Billy Porter, Telly Leung, Phylicia Rashad, and Montego Glover, among other stars—will sing holiday classics and new music created just for the livestream event. American Express is partnering with Broadway Inspirational Voices’ and offering exclusive experiences attached to the one-time “A Season of Hope and Inspiration” event. Their American Express VIP Experience Package, which is available only to Amex Card Members, includes a ticket to not only the main event but a pre-filmed virtual concert before the show with Andrea Burns, Liz Callaway, Norm Lewis, Leslie Odom Jr., and Michael James Scott.
Rashad, who won a history-making Tony Award for her 2004 performance in “A Raisin in the Sun,” said, “In this time of not always knowing which way to turn, or where to go, or how to get there, Michael McElroy's Broadway Inspirational Voices holds fast to bringing us all the gifts of ‘great joy.’ What a blessing!"
McElroy echoed the sentiment of using this concert as a way to facilitate joy and healing this holiday season. The Broadway Inspirational Voices concert is meant to inspire hope and create a meaningful sense of togetherness—even if families can’t necessarily be together this year.
