As of March 18, 2021 American Express released a new round of limited offers with Marriott Bonvoy. The card offerings, released just three days before spring 2021 and amid Americans getting vaccinated and starting to plan future trips, are a way for Card Members to leverage credit card points toward their favorite restaurants and small businesses. The rewards, which start on March 18 and run through May 12, 2021 are exclusively for Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card Members. As future Card Members begin to scout new travel credit cards and plan for future travel, these newly released benefits will also help them garner points for potential upcoming travel.
Among the new card offers, those with a Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card will earn 125,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when opening a new card and spending $5,000 in the first three months. That offer will also come with a $200 statement credit for eligible purchases made at restaurants in the U.S., which, of course, is a nod to American Express’ commitment to save American restaurants amid the pandemic. To that end, Amex has recently launched Backing Historic Small Restaurants, wherein they invited consumers to nominate their favorite, long-standing restaurants to receive a $25,000 grant. American Express is also running an Order In, Help Out campaign, which offers certain Card Members benefits when ordering takeout.
Beyond the restaurant and leisure travel benefits, the new rewards are targeted toward business travelers who may soon start booking hotels and flights for work trips later this year. In fact, according to a recent Amex Trendex report, one in three business travelers will feel comfortable returning to business trips after they’ve received a COVID-19 vaccine. With that in mind, the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card gives new Card Members 100,000 bonus points when spending $5,000 in their first three months of membership—plus $150 in statement credits.
Between American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts properties and the properties Marriott Bonvoy cardholders have access to, accrued points can go a long way. New Card Members scouting future vacations or business trips can browse The Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, which includes five-star hotel brands like The Ritz-Carlton and The St. Regis, and American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts properties from Santa Fe to Bora Bora.
