Anderson and production designer Adam Stockhausen consulted old photochromes of legendary European hotels for a 15-by-9-foot model built in Germany’s Babelsberg studios, drawing inspiration from London’s Savoy and St. Pancras, as well as the Czech Republic’s Grandhotel Pupp.
