Flats have long been a staple for luxury footwear designer Sarah Flint. Her Lily shoe was sold out for three years after Meghan Markle donned a pair, and she created a stunning set inspired by Vermeer's Girl With a Pearl Earring. Now the brand is turning to the kings and queens of flats for the latest collection: ballerinas.
Sarah Flint partnered with the American Ballet Theater (ABT) to create a special-edition Sacchetto Ballet Flat. The shoe features super soft nappa leather and is shaped like the classic pointe shoe, with a tonal satin toe and squared-off toe shape. Like a shoe made for a dancer, the flat is light, flexible, and designed for movement.

"As a longtime lover of the ballet, it's been a dream come true to work with such an iconic institution like American Ballet Theater," Sarah Flint told Departures in a statement. "Although we operate in different mediums, we both believe in the creation, presentation, and preservation of true beauty, which has been a through-line in our partnership."
What's more is 100 percent of the net proceeds of the Sarah Flint x ABT Sacchetto Ballet Flat will be donated to ABT's Women's Movement, which supports new works by female choreographers. Plus, the brand will release short videos about three female ABT dancers training from home after the news of ABT's spring 2021 season being canceled. The videos are part of the brand's successful "In Her Shoes" series, where they profile a variety of female founders, entrepreneurs, and creatives.

"Customers who purchase the new Sarah Flint x ABT Sacchetto Ballet Flat contribute to the celebration of female artists, adding the voices of amazing women to ABT's repertoire," Kara Medoff Barnett, executive director of the American Ballet Theater, said in a statement.
The Sarah Flint x ABT Sacchetto Ballet Flat in Light Pink Nappa retails for $355. In addition to the partnership, Sarah Flint will be debuting the Sacchetto Ballet Flat (with no tie to ABT) in two more colorways: Black Nappa and Sand Nappa.
