The 24th installment of the James Bond franchise opens today, with Daniel Craig back as Bond in Spectre. While the action sequences are the real star of the movie (get ready for an amazing car chase through Rome) Craig’s wardrobe—including Tom Ford suits and sunglasses, Crocket & Jones boots, and Mulberry gloves—plays a notable supporting role. But the most scene-stealing item might be Bond's Seamaster 300 watch from Omega. While an Omega timepiece has appeared in the past eight films (starting with Goldeneye) Spectre marks the first time Bond’s watch has been available for purchase. The timepiece is appropriately tough (and appropriately limited edition) with a stainless steel case and black and grey woven nylon strap. Watch aficionados will appreciate the inner workings (an OMEGA Master Co-Axial calibre 8400, movement that is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss) while the fashion set will appreciate the understated black dial and black rotating bezel. And Bond fans will no doubt appreciate Q’s customization of Bond’s particular Seamaster, which comes in handy at the end of Spectre.
