The past year has seen a boom in men’s custom luxury items, with nearly every brand now offering something in the name of made-to-order, made-to-measure or bespoke. Sales have reflected the change too: The men’s luxury-goods market is now outperforming women’s in all categories. Perhaps it is the inherent nature of men’s dressing that makes custom pieces more appealing, as it’s almost always less about trends and more about quality, craftsmanship and, above all, personal style. “Men like to be involved in the process,” says Todd Barrato, CEO of Brioni North America, “but they also like handmade items that have a consistent and perfect fit.” Here, a look at the best of the new custom options.
