"Sneaker head" is no longer a term relegated to streetwear-wise kids. Menswear designers are playing with sumptuous materials like calfskin and suede, techniques like ombré patent leather, raw-edged leather laces, and more often than not, looking through the archives for inspiration. The result is a footwear category that is now so popular, versatile, and profitable (it is expected to reach $95.14 billion by 2025) that sneakers have reached cult fashion status.
