Madison Avenue is shining all the brighter after last week's much-anticipated opening of Nirav Modi's first namesake boutique outside of India. The third generation diamantaire is the maker of brilliant ornaments such as the Embrace bangle—a 3.6-carat diamond bracelet that fits any wrist perfectly, thanks to nearly 800 interlocking pieces ($36,000). At Tuesday's glittering launch party, we had the pleasure of previewing a few more of the jeweler’s incredible works. The understated elegance of the Fluire collection caught our eye, with its seemingly weightless blossoms of white and canary yellow diamonds (from $32,000 for a set of ultra-feminine earring studs); but the showstopper was the Maharani necklace, boasting five graduating rows of diamonds—a whopping 238 carats in all—each cut in the ancient Taveez style typical to the crown jewels of India ($1.65 million). Both are on view at the brand's stunning new Manhattan flagship, which is worth a visit alone for the interiors by Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon. 727 Madison Ave.; 212-603-0000; niravmodi.com.
