Handbag collectors, take note: This afternoon Christie’s launches a new auction featuring 95 contemporary, vintage, and one-of-a-kind pieces from covetable designers like Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, and more. Up through March 17th, the sale has something for everyone, including a rainbow array of Birkins, with starting bids ranging from $200 to $45,000; we’ve got our eyes on the Chanel “Lait de Coco” milk carton bag from 2014 (starting estimate at $3,000).
Bidding not your thing? You can visit the Christie’s online handbag shop, launched in 2014, which offers similar luxuries at fixed prices. The shop, which offers an ever-changing selection of accessories curated around a theme, currently features a variety of travel-ready trunks and suitcases from Hermès and Louis Vuitton, including one of their classic vintage monogram canvas wardrobe steamers from 1915 ($7,800).
For an even greater collection of unique and rare pieces to choose from, Christie's is also hosting a live handbags and accessories saleroom auction at their Rockefeller Center location on April 21, perfect for those who'd rather experience all the excitement in person.
