Knives Out, a blockbuster whodunit murder mystery, may have an A-list cast (Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, and Jamie Lee Curtis, just to name a few) but an unlikely star has actually stolen the spotlight and it has fans going completely crazy over it. We are talking about one of the sweaters that Chris Evans’s character is wearing in the film. The cream-colored pullover is so popular that, for a while, the official Knives Out account on Twitter changed its name to Chris Evans' Sweater Stan Account.

The piece in question is actually a distressed crew-neck cable-knit Aran pullover. Jenny Eagan, the movie’s costume designer told the Hollywood Reporter that she doesn’t know the brand but that she and Evans chose it because it fit his character perfectly.

Fortunately, the style is classic enough that there are a lot of similar-looking alternatives out there. Aran sweaters actually have a fascinating history. They originate from the rainy Aran Islands off the West Coast of Ireland and were crafted from natural wool which is water-repellent. Back in the day, they were worn by fishermen and farmers and each family had its own signature pattern that was only sported by its members for generations.

Obviously, the sudden popularity of Chris Evans’ Aran sweater couldn’t come at a better time—with temperatures dipping outside, a cozy pullover is the perfect piece to add to your winter wardrobe. Here, we rounded up a few similar versions that will keep you warm this season.

L.L. Bean Heritage Sweater

L.L. Bean’s Heritage sweater is actually knitted in Ireland from heavyweight wool. The company has partnered with local businesses that have been producing Aran sweaters for generations. This one comes in two other color options if you’re not completely sold on the cream-hued one.

Orvis Black Sheep Irish Fisherman’s Sweater

This is another pullover that looks almost identical to the one Chris Evans sports in Knives Out (minus the distressed effect). It is crafted from 100 percent wool in Ireland and also has a traditional Aran pattern.

Polo Ralph Lauren Cable-Knit Wool and Cashmere-Blend Sweater

While inspired by traditional Aran sweaters, Ralph Lauren’s version actually comes in a luxury blend of wool and cashmere. It is finished with ribbed trims and, in terms of color, it is probably a shade or two lighter than the one in the movie but equally stylish.

Howlin' Slim-Fit Cable-Knit Virgin Wool Sweater

This gorgeous sweater cuts a slim-fitting silhouette and a higher neckline for extra coverage and warmth. It is made in Scotland from virgin wool and features a beautiful pattern of fisherman’s cables and zigzags.

AMI Oversized Cable-Knit Wool Sweater

If you’re into chunky, oversized knits then you’ll love this AMI cable-knit pullover. It has a relaxed fit so you can wear it with another top underneath if the weather is really not cooperating. The dropped shoulder design gives off a casually cool vibe so it’s perfect to wear on weekends.
