Finnish stylist and former fashion editor Tiina Laakkonen is known for her decisive and minimalist point of view. It was no surprise to her magazine colleagues when she opened Tiina on Long Island in 2012. Inside a classic Hamptons home, mixed with Finnish country-inspired decor (plus some really chic rugs and a cozy fireplace), is an edit of disparate brands that serves as more of a seasonal mood board. Look for great utilitarian pants and clean shirts from 1.61 by Aimee Cho and Kimberly Wesson, Arts & Science linen blouses, cashmere pullovers for men by the Elder Statesman, and Sofie D’Hoore lightweight cotton dresses. (Don’t miss the “beauty collection” line from Rodin.) Locals say when summer rolls around, the Dosa cotton tops and day dresses and Liwan sandals go fast. For a quick hostess gift, pick up glassware from Iittala or a cozy blanket from Lena Rewell. 216 Main St.; 631-267-6200; tiinathestore.com. —Karla Martinez de Salas
