From a gray hoodie to the perfect black suit, this collection has it all.

Ever since Dior appointed Kim Jones as creative director of its menswear collections last year, the fashion world can’t seem to get enough of him. And for a very good reason. In the span of a year and a half, the designer, who is half Danish and half British, has proved to be a master of blending together past and present—his collections always pay homage to the established design codes of the luxury brand but he also adds his own modern spin, turning every show into a financial and creative success.

And there is no doubt that his latest endeavor for Dior will be a complete triumph as well. Jones has launched a new line of timeless must-haves, dubbed Dior Essentials, which “redefine the fundamentals of the masculine wardrobe.”

The collection is comprised of easy-to-wear everyday pieces such as a navy puffer jacket, a classic gray cotton hoodie, a white polo shirt, and a pair of slim-fit jeans. It also features more formal options such as black wool dress pants, a single-breasted slim-fit jacket, and a black cashmere coat. The goal is to offer the modern man a set of sophisticated wardrobe essentials that he can wear to a variety of occasions—whether it’s a Sunday brunch or a business meeting.

“Staying true to the history of Dior, the Dior Essentials collection defines a new menswear style to reflect the spirit of the House. As a visionary designer, Christian Dior captured a set of iconic codes at the heart of his creations. Reinterpreted now, these are codes to embody the essence of his couturier,” states the brand.

The collection also includes a range of shoes and accessories to perfectly complement the apparel. Our favorites are the black-and-white canvas sneakers we probably won’t want to take off on weekends and the Oblique canvas-and-leather backpack—perfect for travel.
