Take a look back at the highlights of Fashion Week, from New York to Paris, as seen through the eyes of DEPARTURES' fashion editors. These are some of their standout moments (in terms of both fashion and culture) along the way as they traveled from city to city.

New York: Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera closed out her final show as creative director with a finale of models dressed in her signature white shirt and taffeta balls skirts. It was touching tribute to her impeccable signature style and the house she founded in 1980. –Fashion Director Melissa Ventosa Martin

New York: Bottega Veneta
In celebration of their Maison opening this year on Madison Avenue, Bottega Veneta brought their show to New York for the first time. The runway was complete with a roaring fireplace and living room furniture. –Senior Fashion Editor Mallory Schlau

New York: Calvin Klein
The award for most incredible production must go to Raf Simons for Calvin Klein. Guests (and models) waded in a sea of popcorn to get to their seats. I think several editors have sworn off eating popcorn permanently. –MVM

London: Burberry
After 17 years at Burberry, Christopher Bailey closed out his tenure with an upbeat nod to the past. The colorful collection included reissued designs from the 80’s and buy-now pieces with a rainbow plaid that benefits LGBTQ charities around the world. –MS

Milan: Versace
Hands down one of my favorite shows of the season, Versace embraced female sex appeal and a cultural mix–two important ideas right now. Mini dresses galore were styled with head coverings, several in their signature scarf prints. It was a testament to female confidence and global style. –MVM

Milan: Cracco Restaurant
Chef Carlos Cracco’s new outpost, Cracco, in the Galleria was the talk of Milan Fashion Week. Equal parts café, restaurant, event space, wine room, each interior. Perhaps the chicest room (of which there were several) was the smoking room complete with a bar of rare cognacs. –MVM

Milan: Ferragamo
For his first collection as creative director for Salvatore Ferragamo, Paul Andrew showed his womenswear alongside Guillaime Meilland’s menswear, and it worked beautifully. Simple, understated luxuries were front and center. These were pieces you wanted to invest in, starting with the men’s oversized totes in ostrich. –MVM

Paris: Hermès
I loved Pierre Hardy’s new take on the classic Hermès riding boot that debuted in Paris. Done in vibrant red, yellow, and orange with a rubber sole, it’s a fun update on a classic. –MVM

Paris: Dior
Those of us who were around to witness the first saddlebag were excited to see its return on the runway. This time embellished with beads and patchwork and embroidery, the new incarnation of the saddle is sure to top several wish lists for fall. –MVM

Paris: Martin Margiela Exhibit
One of my Paris highlights was a stop at the Martin Margiela exhibit at the Palais Galliera. A reminder that so many designers owe such a debt to his vision, from show production to collection concepts and capsule collections. Repurposing the simple white tee, for example. –MVM
