The best street food?
Oaxaca City, Mexico, blew me into another reality of what street food could be as a daily routine and lifestyle. There are so many spots to get memelas, tlayudas, tamales, tejate, you name it — and not to mention the meat halls that are an experience of their own. The quality of the food is incredible at every single stop. If I had to pick one spot, it would be a stand on the corner of Jesus Carranza and Calle de Manuel Garcia Vigil; it’s run by three sisters who, from morning 'til about 3 p.m., crank out the most amazing gospel that are memelas. I would recommend eating everything that comes off their comal [griddle].
