The Chalet Alpine: The Rum House, New York

The Details: The bourbon, Alpine cream liqueur and cinnamon evoke that après ski sensibility: warm sweaters, roaring fireplace and kicking back after a day on the slopes.

The Characteristics: Winter cocktails are the ones that warm you from the inside, whether it’s something containing brown spirits like whiskey and bourbon or drinks like hot toddies and mulled wines that are quite literally warming.

The Chalet Alpine
1 1/2 oz Maker's Mark bourbon
1 oz heavy cream
1 1/2 oz Lauria Alpensahne Alpine Cream Liqueur
1/2 oz orange juice
1/2 oz Averna
1/4 oz maple syrup
Dash Angostura Bitters
1 egg white
Whipped cream
Cinnamon, freshly grated or ground

Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds and strain into a wine glass or large rocks glass. Top with whipped cream and garnish with cinnamon to taste.
