HaTachana

Neve Tzedek
Shopping Center

Since opening in late 2010, HaTachana (Hebrew for “the station”) has become an unexpectedly charming urban-regeneration success. Originally built in 1892 as the end point on the Jerusalem-Jaffa railway, this 49-acre complex pairs an elegantly updated former station house with numerous new-build boutiques showcasing the best of Israeli fashion and interior and industrial design. A variety of boutiques in the original station house are worth a look, and a hearty collection of pubs, ice cream stalls, and upscale bistros offer opportunities for a nosh between shops.
