This ambitious hotel opened to much fanfare in 2015 and it delivers on all expectations: beautifully restored Haussmanian architecture, an impressive spa, spacious guest rooms, and a diverse array of restaurants and bars. Peninsula Hotel’s Asian roots can be detected in its extravagant Chinese New Year celebrations and the Cantonese restaurant LiLi (its dramatic interior is inspired by the Chinese opera), but the hotel is also distinctly Parisian. (The oak paneled Le Bar Kléber is where the Paris Peace Accords, ushering in the end of the Vietnam War, were signed in 1973.) The guest rooms are largely contemporary with a soft grey and cream palette, lacquered furnishings, and leather headboards inspired by the domes of the Grand Palais. The digital bedside panels, preset in eleven languages, make these the most high-tech rooms in the city. (Rooms, from $838)
