This hotel has a (gut-renovated) Haussmannian structure, but the Ed Tuttle–designed interiors are thoroughly modern—with moody lighting, jewel-toned furniture, and touches of contemporary sculpture. Every room has limestone bathrooms with floor heating and rain showers. The Michelin one-star restaurant Pur’ has been making waves lately with occasional international chef exchange programs that allow diners the best of the outside world while having a perfectly Parisian experience. The lobby bar is known to host quite the scene in the evenings. (Rooms, from $725)
