Les Bains
During the ’80s Les Bains Douches was Paris’s Studio 54, a nightclub designed by then unknown designer Philippe Starck and frequented by the likes of Andy Warhol, Yves Saint Laurent, and Mick Jagger. In 2015, the 19th-century building was turned into a luxury boutique hotel, but the current owner, filmmaker Jean-Pierre Marois, decided to keep its reputation for parties alive with a below ground club and live music venue. The space with a black-and-white checkered floor has once again become the “It” spot in Paris hosting fashion parties, DJ sets, and musicians like Jean Nipon. For those in the mood for more serious drinking, then dancing, the ground floor bar is a cocktail laboratory where barmen use house-made shrubs, herbs, and even vegetables like beets in their unique concoctions.
