Bar Hemingway
Longtime bartender Colin Field makes drinking at this famous establishment a treat. He chats up everyone who walks through the doors and he has an uncanny way of knowing exactly what you should be drinking, whether it’s the Serendipity, a cocktail he came up with in 1984 that has Calvados, fresh mint muddled with sugar, apple juice, and Champagne, or a crystal clear dirty martini. This is one of the most revered and expensive bars in the world, but the oak-paneled interior decorated with antique typewriters and black-and-white photos of Papa Hemingway coupled with the friendly service keep it from feeling pretentious.
