Alain Ducasse’s Bourgone bistro in Saint-Germain-des-Prés delivers an authentic gourmet bistro experience that is increasingly difficult to find in Paris. The interior is decorated with floral wallpaper, red banquettes, and a zinc bar and the restaurant still makes dishes, like Challand duck with olives, that were on the menu when the restaurant first opened in 1932. Head chef Laëtitia Rouabah, who worked at the Plaza Athénée and the Jules Verne, still champions the simple French cooking that made the restaurant famous, including dishes like a tender Noir de Bigorre pork chop with potatoes and black truffle and fondant beef cheek with carrots. Traditional and satisfying French desserts like profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce are the perfect way to cap off your meal.
