Located across from the Museum of Modern Art, the Baccarat hotel is the French crystal purveyor’s architectural incarnate and first foray into hospitality. Shimmering crystal (the lobby boasts a 20-by-25-foot wall of more than 2,000 iconic Baccarat Harcourt glasses and more than a few grand chandeliers are featured throughout) and classic furniture in shades of cream, silver, and gold dominate the scene. The 114 guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, custom jacquard linens by Mascioni, marble baths, and exclusive amenities created for the hotel by Parisian perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. Room phones include a Champagne button by which guests can have a chilled bottle of their choosing instantly delivered (along with two Baccarat flutes) to their door. The hotel is also home to the first La Mer spa in the United States. (Rooms, from $1,200)
