Mandolin Aegean Bistro
Opened in 2009 by husband and wife team Anastasia Koutsioukis and Ahmet Erkaya, this Design District hotspot serves fresh, Greek-inspired fare (like lamb chops over orzo pilaf). The menu also includes a few of Koutsioukis and Erkaya’s favorite street food from Greece and Turkey, like pork souvlaki with house-cut fries and grilled pita. Though the original location is charming—the restaurant is in a restored 1940s bungalow and has its own onsite garden—Mandolin also has an excellent satellite waterside location at Soho Beach House, for those who are members.
