Condesa DF

Undine Pröhl

Set on a quiet street in the artsy neighborhood of Condesa, this 40-room retreat showcases designer India Mahdavi’s playful, retro-inspired interiors (cowhide love seats, bulbous spun-fiberglass light fixtures). The 1928 French Neoclassical building was once a convent, and the compact, slightly monastic guest rooms overlook a soaring triangular courtyard. (Book one of the suites with a balcony overlooking the tree-lined street.) There are also a tiny hammam, the model-magnet rooftop bar La Terraza, and a boutique. (Rooms, from $250)
