Dover Street Market
Founded by Comme des Garçons mastermind duo Kei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe, London’s Dover Street Market was the first of the ready-to-wear mecca’s four locations around the world (New York, Ginza, and Beijing have since followed). The newest iteration of the store opened in Haymarket in spring 2016 in the former Burberry house, and the structure has been both preserved and refreshed. The new multilevel emporium—which tripled the amount of space DSM had in its old Mayfair location—is home to a number of uniquely designed spaces, each dedicated to individual labels. The result is an endlessly creative, expressive gallery-like experience. Don’t miss Rose Bakery for a mid-shop pick-me-up.
