Chelsea Physic Garden

Botanical Garden

Dating back to 1673 (so much older than Kew Gardens), it’s from this site that the first cotton plant was taken to Georgia. Intriguing walks, talks, and workshops led by head gardener Nick Bailey and visiting experts are the specialty of this world-renowned home to botany where edible, useful, medicinal, and historical plants are the focus. Expect an ever-changing calendar of the unusual: Shakespearean herbology; poisonous plants in the books of Agatha Christie, and visits from perfumery experts at Jo Malone or Penhaligon's.
