O Bom, O Mau e O Vilão
The laid back (but lively) vibe of this colorful cocktail lounge is a welcomed departure from the rowdy bacchanal that typifies most of the Caiso do Sodre nightlife scene. Located in a transformed townhouse comprised of several rooms, each with its own retro personality made bolder by stunning wall treatments—from striking red paint to bright floral wallpaper to kitschy street art-inspired murals—this hotspot never feels too cramped or too loud. The piano room with low, thick-cushioned seats has the most easygoing atmosphere and is a favorite among guests who want to chat over cocktails. (The bar has a great selection of rums and gins, including Portugal’s own Sharish, a fragrant, slightly fruity gin that goes great with tonic.) Programing throughout the week includes jazz sessions and movie screenings. The all-marble room with massive windows looking into the street is a fantastic spot to people watch, but be forewarned, it’s also where the smokers hang out.
