J Baptista

Vintage Jewelry

Originally founded by antiques expert José Baptista and his wife Ana in the 1940s with a shop in Campo de Ourique, this elegant store relocated to a street in Baixa historically known for its goldsmiths. J Baptista’s vast inventory is famous for being the largest collection of antique Portuguese jewelry and silver products dating back to the 15th century. But it will certainly impress shoppers looking for treasures beyond the country’s borders, too. On top of the beautiful silver and objet d’art, the biggest draw is the spectacular vintage jewelry. Take your pick from 18th-century gold, silver, and chrysoberyl earrings fit for a queen, a Cartier two-tone gold bracelet from the 1960s, a platinum and diamond Art Deco brooch from the 1930s, and much more.
