Previously the city’s Red Light District, the Intendente neighborhood has been on an upward swing over the last few years, welcoming fun hospitality projects that are breathing new life into the neighborhood. Casa Independente opened in one of the big, nondescript buildings on the main square in 2013 and has been a big hit with stylish Lisboetas (often of a younger demographic) ever since. They come to the multifloor venue for early-evening drinks on the breezy, boho-chic patio and its dance floor for a rotating schedule of musicians and DJs at night. Casa Independente features one of the most interesting events lineup in town. Check the calendar in advance to see who playing, or show up with an open mind.
