The New York City exhibit will also include a gorgeous timepiece worn by the legendary actress.

Marilyn Monroe’s place among the world’s most iconic and influential women is undeniable. Her independent spirit and confidence continue to fascinate to this day and to inspire women to embrace their individuality. So if you, like us, are completely mesmerized by the actress’s life and work, then you’re not going to want to miss a new month-long exhibition dedicated to the Hollywood legend.

Taking place at luxury watchmaker Blancpain’s flagship store on New York’s Fifth Avenue, the exhibition, called Timeless Elegance, will feature rarely seen photos by photographer Lawrence Schiller, alongside a collection of the star’s personal belongings.

The must-see exhibition will showcase some of Lawrence Schiller’s portraits of the star who first photographed her in 1960 and who has since authored three books about her. Schiller took some of Monroe’s most famous photos including the ones of her swimming naked in a pool on the set of her last movie, Something’s Got to Give.

But one of the most fascinating pieces of the exhibition is an Art Deco-inspired 1930s timepiece that was bought at an auction by Blancpain in 2016 for $250,000.

“We are proud to present Marilyn’s Blancpain watch to the public for the very first time,” said Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain.

The elegant platinum watch features 73 diamonds and previously belonged to director Lee Strasberg, who was one of Monroe’s closest friends.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Blancpain to celebrate the one and only Marilyn Monroe,” said Jamie Salter, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Authentic Brands Group, owner of the Monroe Estate. “Blancpain’s history of luxury craftsmanship and innovation withstands the test of time and aligns perfectly with Marilyn’s enduring legacy.”

The Timeless Elegance exhibition is on show from October 31 through November 23 at Blancpain’s New York flagship store at 697 Fifth Avenue.
