Valentin Loellmann

German-born, Netherlands-based woodworker and designer Valentin Loellmann relishes in bringing materials together to merge elements in unique ways. The table pictured here, from his Spring/Summer collection, was an investigation into fusing metal and wood. A console using the same technique earned Loellmann the Moët Hennessy PAD award for “best piece of contemporary design” at the 2013 Pavilion Art & Design show in London. For his newest collection, Blocks, arrangements of metal bricks plated with shiny brass or copper support wooden table tops.
