Our curated book recommendations for the year ahead.
The first of its kind: a nonprofit fashion magazine. Mission, launching in April, will publish biannual issues solely devoted to—and benefiting—charitable causes. Its founder, British stylist Karina Givargisoff (W, Arena, The Face), first had the idea almost 20 years ago, following the loss of her mother and brother. A friend’s cancer diagnosis in 2013 inspired her to merge her love of fashion with philanthropy. Each issue will have one, well, mission. The debut issue spotlights women’s empowerment. Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, and Aerin Lauder have signed on as collaborators. missionmag.org.
