Lloyd Ziff / Kiersten Armstrong
Two Cities, One Lens
During his career in magazines, including Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, and Travel + Leisure, art director Lloyd Ziff worked with acclaimed photographers Annie Leibovitz, Richard Avedon, and Irving Penn. Their work filled Ziff’s pages, and over the years Ziff shared his personal photography with them. It’s those images, starting with a shot of a Buick on Brooklyn’s Myrtle Avenue the L.A. native took while a student at Pratt Institute, that now comprise Ziff’s new book, New York/Los Angeles($125; KMW Studio; kmwstudio.com), a double volume of photos taken in his two hometowns.
