The storied history of Hawaii’s beloved ceremonial dance.

In its 32 years, the international fair of contemporary art known as Art Basel has become so popular (exhibits sell out daily) and so big (262 galleries, 5,000 works of art) that the organizers are now branching out to the United States. The first Art Basel Miami Beach (December 13-16) will feature 150 established and younger dealers from around the world, including Ernst Beyeler (Basel), Jay Jopling (London), Marianne Boesky (New York), and Patrick Painter (Los Angeles), who will show works like Energy Reasons, by Albert Oehlen.
